“My life-long dream is to be the voice of reason, love, and understanding for the homosexual community,I will courageously step onto a platform where I will be judged, criticized, and have my character attacked, but I am doing so with the confidence that not another child or person will take their life or lose their life simply because of their sexual orientation,I am an ambassador for change, who is willing to challenge society in the hope that we can lay aside our differences and allow the things that make us unique, bring us together and not separate us”
“The STRENGTH from WITHIN”..Being different in a world where the slightest differences can cause some of the best people to be labeled as weird or as outcasts, not because they did anything wrong, but simply because they possessed a uniqueness
that’s not popular with society, within their communities, schools, or everyday social environments is an issue that’s robbed human life of the natural born right to be happy. At one time it was race, then it was class, and now its gender. It’s no secret that America has blatantly voiced its discontent with anyone or anything that was not normal, according to the standards created by the founding fathers of this country. Many people have lost their lives fighting for the natural born human rights that every person is supposed to be privy to. Great people such as Dr Martin Luther King paid the ultimate price to wake up a racist and fascist country and in 2012 we are still fighting for the equal rights and fair treatment of all human beings. This is not something that Six; founder of The NoHomo-Phobia Campaign ever thought he’d be fighting for. Growing up in Clarksville,TN the sixth child to his parents(name). Six would find himself the victim of personal and public scrutiny and humiliation throughout his middle school and high school years dealing with homophobia. Finally fed up with the mental and physical attacks, Six decides that it was time to “Come Out” during his sophomore year in high school. That period would prove to be a very difficult time in the young teens life, his mother would be diagnosed with Lupus,he would be homeless and his strength and faith wold be tested at the highest degree as he was still subconsciously trying to prove himself to a homophobic society. Things seemed bleak and adversity appeared to have the upper hand, but Six has blessed with a strong family who supported him and loved him regardless of his sexual orientation. Wanting to be an ambassador for change and put a stop to the senseless bullying and murders, and with the loss of his friend who lost his life to a homophobic hate crime,Mr. Dixon decided that it was time to facilitate a new movement and put his career as wardrobe stylist on hold in an attempt to to bring out abut change and be the voice of those who lost their lives to senseless violence and for those who aren’t able to speak out. The NoHomo-Phobia Campaign was created to be the new platform that brought about unity between the heterosexual and homosexual communities. The goal is to provide homosexual youth and adults with a new sense of security in knowing that its OK for them to be and a new confidence in knowing that they are not alone and have a support system.
